Google investigating Drive sync issues for some users

Some Google Drive users are reporting that Google has lost some of their Drive files.

 

Reads like some users' Drive for Desktop app hasn't been syncing their local cache up to the cloud, as Google are advising those affected to not delete their local appdata (which is where the app caches files locally).

Personally, I always check the system tray for sync status when updating files, especially important ones.
