Does anyone know if there's a way to alter the external email warning in Gmail please? This bit:

It's good that it applies for external mail, however I want it to show for all external mail even if the recipient is in their contacts. It seems strange that this isn't a default option, and as usual this is a piece of cake in 365.

Cheers

There's no option available for that, sadly.

However, once an external recipient has been added to a message, they'll still appear with an orange highlight regardless of whether they're in contacts or not, which I guess is better than nothing.

Doesn't appear to be the case for us, once they've been emailed before they're in contacts and the orange highlight doesn't appear. I suspect we'll just have to keep drilling it into staff to double check :)

This is what I get. Adding two recipeints, one internal, the other (with orange highlight) is external but in my contacts.

Once I click on to the body of the message, the external receipient gets an orange underline.

If there was an external receipient who isn't in my contacts, I'd also be getting the orange warning at the foot of the compose window, like in your original post.
