Migration from Google Workspace TO SharePoint Online

Morning

I'm in the process of prepping a migration from Google Workspace to SharePoint online and am looking at using the built-in Migration Manager. During the preperation, I've seen that there are a number of users that are both setup in SharePoint and Google, but during the Auto Map process of the migration, the users aren't appearing.

There is an option to download a mapping.csv file, edit it with the updated information for the missing groups/users and import - but very little documentation as to what needs to be added

Step 5: Map Google identities with Migration Manager - Migrate to Microsoft 365 | Microsoft Learn

The mapping example file contains the headings

Source role (for reference only)

‎Google Drive‎ identity (for reference only)

Microsoft 365 identity

And some information in column A (source ) showing "group" - but no details that I can find as to how to add users to this.

Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried User and Users as well

Source role (for reference only)

‎Google Drive‎ identity (for reference only)

Microsoft 365 identity

User

[email protected]

[email protected]

Users

[email protected]

[email protected]

But if it try to import, it fails with a Connection error, please try again later.

Support and assistance would be appreciated.

@TRSJon, I figured it out, the first column is just incorrectly called 'Source role' probably from another export template lazily left there; the actual column based on devtools network tab in the request/response payloads is 'SourceType' which is validated to be one of 'user','domain','group'. So if the row represents a user, that column would be 'user', if group, group, etc. This was a huge PITA to figure out what should have been a documented thing.
