IT SYSTEMS MANAGER – Permanent – COLCHESTER - £40,478 to £43,516.

 

ESP are delighted to announce that we are working with St Benedict’s Catholic College, a top performing non-selective school set within the spacious grounds (including tennis courts and playing fields) around

The school is looking for an experienced Senior Technician/IT Manager who is looking to step up and continue to develop, manage and maintain the College wide IT Systems and processes.

 

This full time role will be looking for candidates who have a proven record of success in managing/overseeing IT services, ideally within an Education setting. The person that we are looking to attract will have both a technical and pragmatic mindset on how a IT division works – someone who will be responsible for two other technicians and lead them in the college IT suite.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT Technicians who are looking to move their career on – allowing you to continue with your ‘hands-on’ technical expertise, but at the same time involving you in the college’s IT strategy and taking your team with you.

 

 

 

Key responsibilities of the IT Systems Manager include:

 

  • Ensure the College’s IT Systems & facilities enable and enhance teaching, learning and administration
  • Manage the operation of the IT infrastructure across the College and along with key stakeholders plan its strategic development
  • To lead and coordinate the day to day work and professional development of the IT Support Team
  • Alongside the Business Manager, ensure procurement of all hardware and software follow best value principles and is subject to a comprehensive evaluation, methodical installation and regular maintenance
  • Develop a long-term strategic plan for IT resources and services across the college, in line with the DfE Digital Technology Standards
  • Develop and project manage IT strategically across the College to achieve a safe and efficient IT environment for staff and students
  • Oversee the financial planning for IT, through the identification, planning and costing of all future developments and upgrades to achieve best value for the College
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant external organisations
  • Manage the IT support team, taking responsibility for their professional development and performance management
  • To manage all system updates, including SIMS, recognising the flexibility required and need to run some updates after hours or at weekends
