ThatIOWGuy Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Our users save all their files to Google Drive using the app they log into (Formerly Google FileStream) We have have blocked the ability to save anywhere on C: via GP. This means when users try saving a document in word for example the following dialogue box appears and users have to press ok twice before being able to select the G: Drive. “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer” This obviously isn’t very user friendly, does anyone know if this error message can be suppressed or have a better solution without allowing the ability to save on C: Drive? Thanks in Advance
howartp Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Set your default save location to G: instead of MyDocs or whatever it's currently set to. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/change-office-default-save-location-for-all-users/2d7cdfc2-fc77-4cab-a650-51d91332ca40#:~:text=In%20the%20Group%20Policy%20Editor%2C%20go%20to%20User%20Configuration%20%3E%20Administrative,Click%20the%20Apply%20button.
