Senior IT Technician - Surbiton - £26 to £34,000 per annum

The Company: H&H technology Ltd t/a ID3 has been providing excellent IT support within the Education Sector for over 20 years. Currently based in 4 schools, we support the school's use of IT including resolving any problems or errors, providing and installing new hardware and software, updating and upgrading software and hardware, maintaining and upgrading servers and the school's network. Liaising with the schools regarding refreshment plans and future planning and purchasing. We play a key part in the schools' Digital Learning development and have an excellent relationship with all the school's we support. We currently have some long standing contracts (25 years) and some new and exciting ones. We have gained all our school contracts through Headteachers and staff hearing excellent reviews about us and asking us to work with them.

 

The position:

We are looking for a Senior IT Technician who can represent our company and use their experience and knowledge to help the school's continue to be at the forefront of Digital Learning. They will need to support the ever growing need for IT within education and the support network of the school. This permanent position is well suited to an individual who is looking to advance their career in IT within the Education sector and wants to be part of a forward thinking, thriving and supportive company and help us expand and develop. Whilst this position will be mainly based at one location, the successful candidate must have their own car and be able to use this for travelling to other schools if required. Mileage and parking costs will be paid by the company if employees are using their car for this purpose.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm with a 30 minute break. Annual Leave to be taken in school holidays only.

 

Key roles:

To ensure the smooth running of the school’s ICT systems, including MS server, cloud based back up systems, Office 365, Google Suite, LGFL MIS Sync, DNS, DHCP and Active Directory.

To plan and implement the installation of new and existing software, updates and maintenance plans.

To provide technical support for all users – students and staff.

To assist in the planning and implementation of new technologies and changes required by the school.

Strategic Planning for the development of IT and infrastructure within the school.

The applicant should have:

Previous experience in managing Schools' IT networks Excellent customer service skillsA flexible approach to the job and a desire to 'make it happen.'Moderate physical fitness: part of the job may involve climbing ladders etc. (training given) to install projectors and speakers, etc.Ability to work on own initiative.Ability to work well under pressure.Excellent client-facing skills and verbal/written communication skills.Excellent problem-solving skills.Be presentable (company uniform provided). Proven technical ability with Microsoft Server 2016+, Active Directory, Windows 7+, Office 2016+, Microsoft Hyper-V virtualised environments, Google Suite, HP, Dell & Cisco server/switch hardware
