penfold Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 I am trying to create an XML file as I need this to import into some software. However, when I look to export the file from Developer>Export. This is greyed out. I have also tried importing an XML file but when I try I get a message "The specified XML source does not refer to a schema. Excel will create a schema based on the XML source data. This will load (with a warning of some data was loaded as text) but I still cannot export it. I am assuming this is because something is missing in Excel? I need to make some changes to some config files and currently the option is doing it manually one by one so it is painfully slow. I need to be able to create an XML file from excel so I can make the changes easily and then export to XML with the updated settings
Jawloms Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Don't you just "Save As" and choose XML in the drop down to save, and right click the file and choose "Open With" -> "Excel" to open an XML?
penfold Posted June 14, 2023 Author Posted June 14, 2023 @Jawloms It gives me an error if I try that. This is why I am assuming something is missing. I get the same error if I try a new file or try and import an existing xml
Steve21 Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Appreciate it’s not excel, but might be worth trying Microsoft XML notepad Generally saves time rather than faffing with developer tools Steve 1
