ScottStevinson Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Hi All, Sorry if this is repeated elsewhere. I'm the NM of a Junior School ~300 users, ~100 machines. I'm in the process of putting together a Network Ops Manual containing the following: Staff AUP Pupil AUP Data Backup Policy Asset Management Policy AD Diagrams (Visio) Physical Building Plan (Switch Locations, Cable Runs, etc) IT Disaster Recovery Plan Server Roles IP Addressing/DHCP Scopes WiFi Infrastructure/Coverage Key Contacts/Suppliers for Emergency Have I missed anything out here? Anything I should add? Thanks Scott
Ric_ Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Cyberbullying policy and data protection policies are two of the most important ones you have missed out. 1
ScottStevinson Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 @Ric: Sounds a stupid question, but what else should be in the Data Protection Policy except for "don't remove personal data from site in an unsecured form" Scott
GrumbleDook Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 DP policy in the Wiki, but it will need to be reviewed come August / September when new guidance comes out from Becta (ie directly to schools) and from LAs 1
ScottStevinson Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 Probably worth me waiting 'til September for the Data Protection Policy then. As far as Cyberbullying is concerned, should the NM be writing that or should it come from the ICT Curriculum Manager? Scott
russdev Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Depends in a junior school would say be combo of both of you. But remember all policies have to be approved by head and signed off by the governors.
GrumbleDook Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Cyberbullying should be written by the person who also writes the bullying policy ... but there should be significant input from both you and the head of Curriculum ICT. Bullying is a society issue, it just happens that it is made possible by technology.
EduTech Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 School Policies - EduGeek.net Wiki Theres all the policies i have put into the wiki so far might come in useful. As GD said the DP policy will be updated around Aug/Sept James.
