Hi All,

Sorry if this is repeated elsewhere. I'm the NM of a Junior School ~300 users, ~100 machines. I'm in the process of putting together a Network Ops Manual containing the following:

  • Staff AUP
  • Pupil AUP
  • Data Backup Policy
  • Asset Management Policy
  • AD Diagrams (Visio)
  • Physical Building Plan (Switch Locations, Cable Runs, etc)
  • IT Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Server Roles
  • IP Addressing/DHCP Scopes
  • WiFi Infrastructure/Coverage
  • Key Contacts/Suppliers for Emergency

Have I missed anything out here? Anything I should add?

Thanks

Scott

Probably worth me waiting 'til September for the Data Protection Policy then.

As far as Cyberbullying is concerned, should the NM be writing that or should it come from the ICT Curriculum Manager?

Depends in a junior school would say be combo of both of you.

But remember all policies have to be approved by head and signed off by the governors.

Cyberbullying should be written by the person who also writes the bullying policy ... but there should be significant input from both you and the head of Curriculum ICT.

Bullying is a society issue, it just happens that it is made possible by technology.
