New Offic365 Tenancy & onmicrosoft.com domain

We are looking at having an Office365 tenancy for our MAT (even though we are mainly a Google School).

 

I've setup a new tenancy with nameoftrust.onmicrosoft.com and i'm wanting to add our MAT domain.com to the tenancy however it states that there are other accounts that have been created with this domain name.

 

I get a Remove domain from another account.

 

We can't add this domain to your account because other people have already signed up for Microsoft 365 user and email address ending in domain.com.

 

Thing is this could be a number of people who have done this. What's the best way to go about getting this sorted?

Depending on how your domain is setup users may have setup personal microsoft accounts using your MAT email.

Microsoft were meant to stop this https://mspoweruser.com/microsoft-finally-blocking-users-creating-microsoft-account-work-email-address/

but I've still found accounts created this way especially when trying to join teams meetings from other organisations sending invites.

This is going to be harder than what it should be!

 

I've created a powerbi account and i'm not seeing the Admin option. Even in portal.office365.com im not seeing the Admin option.

 

If i go to admin.microsoft.com with the account i created on our domain.com address i get:

 

Your account ([email protected]) doesn’t have permission to view or manage this page in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
