Adobe Creative Cloud - changing from browser login to app login?

Originally when we deployed our Creative Cloud packages we chose the option for browser-based login, as we thought this would allow it to take advantage of the SSO capabilities we set up for our Windows users' web browsers. However we've since discovered that it caused more problems than it solves. Does anyone know if there's a way (e.g. a registry key or a config file) to switch back to Creative Cloud app based logins without having to redeploy the whole thing? As we've got it installed on 1000+ PCs, so don't really want to redeploy everything.

You might have to create an app with the setting you wan't. Find the xml file and GPP the file out to clients.

We've just updated our ancient version of Adobe from CS6 to the new CC versions and I've deployed out to machines, I think I have the browser option set but it looks like on first login for students it opens up Edge for them to login and doesn't SSO.

 

So do I need to change from browser to app login? Will it auto sign in?

In C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\Configs there's a file named ServiceConfig.xml and that controls all sorts of aspects of the Adobe Desktop App. Open it up and look for BrowserBasedAuthenticationtrue and change true to false.

How does the app then authenticate? Using this method?

When this is set to false, the Adobe apps produce their own popup window using a Chromium-based browser that shows the login page.

Thanks - It might be worth a test this as would this be different to the other way and would it auto sign on?!

If SSO works in one method, it'll work in the other.
