Just came in Tuesday morning to people saying they cant connect to Net2 - the server appears in the list and disappears if you leave the client at the bit where you choose the server. if you connect it either says its not there or tries to connect and fails on the server we were seeing a message around that its busy if you have just updated it - it could take a while to do the firmware updates... annoyingly I don’t have screen shots. – reboot etc didn’t resolve it we haven’t done anything like updates yet this month… so strange – tried rolling the DBs back in Net2 configuration (which is working) No change this is V6.6 on Windows Server 2016.

We rolled back to a backup of the VM the night before – Net2 back working for a bit shoved on the March updates and rebooted and broken again… we noticed that the Windows Defender Process is eating a lot of CPU resource and if you open the net2 server it has lots off messages and is often busy.

In the end what seems to have solved it is 2 exceptions in Path exception policy for windows defender the second one is probably not necessary as that’s for the Biometrics integration.

C:\Net2 Access Control
C:\ievo

Now as everyone thinks its not working I’m going to take the opportunity to upgrade the underling OS to 2022 as both the SQL DBs are now at supported versions 2017 for net2 and 2019 for iEvo - snap shotted first of course just in case... (my last 2016 VM)
