Winget silent install

I'm experimenting with using winget as part of my deployment process - partly so that I can use winget as part of my updating process and so that I can create a "store" of software for users to install themselves.

 

I've started with Foxit and there was an interactive stage; it asked me for permission to send a location code before download and installation started.

 

Is there a way to avoid all prompts being sent to users?

Can it be set for all winget installations or does it need a switch setting for each application?

The winget install command has a -h/--silent flag. You can also include the --accept-package-agreements and --accept-source-agreements arguments to skip those respective prompts.

 

Most software that I've installed via winget have accepted the --silent flag without issue, but it is effectively just running the executable with arguments specified in the repo, so if an installer doesn't support silent install at all there's not much you can do to make it silent.
