I have been asked to look into setting up a student blog page

 

The idea is that students can submit blog posts to the site and read posts submitted by others

 

I have been asked to try to use an Office 365 product or at least have it tied in with Office 365

 

Has anyone done anything like this? got an suggestions?

Wordpress all day long for this kind of thing. Keep it internal too.

I've not done this and so can't offer the required specifics, but I would have thought that Sharepoint would be worth exploring. It's likely to end up having the Sharepoint 'look' to it rather than a bona-fide blogging platform, and I can't say for certain how the approval mechanism can be set up, but you'd have all your 365 auth stuff there to be leveraged, and you won't need to run any extra servers.

Years ago we did this with google sites, which clearly has O365 auth.

IIRC we made them login only for our domain, it must have been 10+ yrs ago so the details are a bit hazy.

You can consider using Microsoft SharePoint, which integrates seamlessly with Office 365 and allows for collaborative document creation and sharing.

 

Create a SharePoint site specifically for the student blog, where each student can have their own subsite or section to submit their blog posts.

 

Utilize SharePoint's document libraries for storing and managing the blog posts, and implement appropriate permissions to ensure privacy and control over the content.
