SharePoint design/build recommendations

We have a simple intranet page which uses a mysql db to display messages to users which staff can add - and either side are tiles with links to websites (kindly donated by a fellow edugeeker)

 

I have been asked to update it "make it more modern looking" and at the same time produce a "staff" only version - which I could do but ideally I could do with moving it to SharePoint.

 

I did post a question about adding news section to a SharePoint site, but after trying and failing due the constant interuptions and side tracked onto other things - I decided to look for a company who can set up the following

 

• General SharePoint "landing page" for all users with "Student News/Notices" which staff can add - this can then be filtered by year groups, etc.
  
• New Staff SharePoint area with "Staff only News/Notices" which staff can add.
  
• Set and check permissions for users.
   
  
• Added bonus would be a design template I can then add to all departmental SharePoint Sites
  

 

 

I'm fed up of not having the time to do a proper job and managing a half decent job

 

So... any recommendations?

It'll probably be overkill for just that purpose, as it's more a full VLE style addon for sharepoint, but one of the ones I know a few schools use is https://www.clouddesignbox.co.uk/

One of the issues with modern SharePoint is the lack of audience targetting with it's web parts - so a general landing page won't work very well. I'd recommend splitting STAFF/STUDENTS and having a landing page for each - much easier to maintain and easier to setup with permissions. You should be able to setup one of these quickly yourself without the need for a third-party. As per @Steve21's suggestion Cloud Design Box do good stuff, but would be overkill for your immediate needs.
