Google Space + Chat and adding groups

Hi all

 

I wanted to setup a Google Space within Google Chat which have our Workspace Classroom teachers group added. It seems I cannot add members of a group (I can add a group but it doesnt add the members), only individual people. Is this correct?

 

Fortunately this is only a fallback/test but it seems a bit crazy I cannot mass add people into a Google Space/Chat as admin.

 

Can anyone shine a light? I'm going about this all wrong?

 

Also is there no mass deploy app like Teams for Google Chat? I know as an individual I can log into Google Chat and it will offer a standalone app, but is there nothing I can force install as an extension etc?
