ozydave Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 G'Day I am trying to block students from being able to browse the 'C' drive via a web browser. I have the "Block access to a list of URLs" set on Chrome and Edge GPOs both as a user and computer. edge://extensions seems to work but trying to block file///c:/ does not. the same is true of \\127.0.0.1\c$. Has anyone else managed to block these?
mavhc Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 What happens when you add a deny List Folder permission to c:\ for your pupils group? 1
ITGuyNW Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 I block them successfully using those urls in the post in both edge and chrome so im not sure why yours isn't working. Is the policy being applied?

kmonah Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I know i am but late but had a simaliar issue that didnt come to light until now, it was due to auto updates and Chrome version 100+. Update your chrome ADMX and then the old policies that don't work anymore will move into the "removed" "deprecated Polices" section and then you can use the new allow and block policy, working fine for me in regards to blocking the C: drive and other URLs. 2
