techedu07 Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Tried all the usual things to get this to charge or show signs of life, but no luck. We have had a few die, with no signs of working, and people mention it on other forums just randomly failing. Took one apart and could not see any blown parts, but when I removed the copper heatsink, the thermal paste was very dry, so I suspect that its the cpu thats dying. Might take a few good ones apart and renew the paste to see if they keep going.
WannabrewUK Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 We had a few HP Chromebooks die last year. Not the same model, but we found they have a surface mounted fuse on the motherboard that had blown.
