SQL Express to SQL full version sims

Hi all

 

School i support is near 10gb for the SQL DB. We have purchased the sql 2016 full version (as recommended by ESS)

 

WHats best way to migrate the DB from Express to full. Would i get option during install to migrate?

forgot to say sql express is also 2016

You can just do an Edition upgrade (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/install-windows/upgrade-to-a-different-edition-of-sql-server-setup?view=sql-server-ver16). In short everything stays the same but you go from the express edition to the full edition.
