Hi All,

Looking for some help or advice on where to look for an issue with aerohive ap 230 when we update the firmware to 8.2r6 -_-

So when we update our AP230 to this firmware our wireless network $hits itself our download speed drops from 100mps to 1mps , devices also fail to connect to the aps and then when they do they drop in and out :/ if we go back a firmware update HiveOS 6.5r10.205308 it is all well the moment we update to firmware above the ap's die ??How do we go about resolving this also any one here work for aerohive ? what analytics do need to capture or setting do need to enable to capture aerohive ap logs So also is there away of skipping this firmware version or does the updates have to be done- ( thinking a head to move to extremes networking portal

Cheers T

Aerohive are now part of Extreme Networks and have been for a while. Current firmware for the AP230 is 10.5r2 which is what we are running and works fine. 6 is ancient and 8 not much newer.

I'm guessing you don't manage them via ExtremeCloud IQ - which is the way to do it now and very good. Anyways - Extreme are the people to talk to.

so there is deffently no way of doing with out being on extremecloudIQ ?

EG we'd need to move from - to and then we'd be able to jump up the firmware like you said ?

Sorry if these seem like dumb questions :(

ExtremeCloudIQ comes in different versions - see graphic on this page. We moved from HiveManager to ExtremeCloudIQ 'Connect' which is free! Reduced suite of management options but saved us almost £30k per year on licensing costs. It would be an option as a stepping stone and it would allow you to upgrade firmware to latest version before shelling out for a full subscription (if you need more than the basic configuration & management tools) Edited by donmacd

If helps make you feel better you are not the only person with issues since Extreme took over Aerohive.

As people have mentioned you would need to have the Extreme Cloud IQ which also gives support.

I am going to presume you are using the connect free platform and possibly the old version of Hivemanager.

I would be happy to help get some costs for migration but as someone else mentioned earlier be prepared for the costs. Ive actually ripped and replaced with a newer solution for less than some renewals.
