Job descriptionWe are looking to appoint an ICT Service Desk on a 12-month internship to join the team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to begin their career in IT and gain experience in a busy and varied organisation that relies on a wide range of technology in daily life.

 

The Royal Academy of Music is a creative and vibrant workplace with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 60 countries. Many of the world’s leading musicians and performers have studied with us and we are firmly focused on developing tomorrow’s musical leaders in disciplines including Classical Performance, Composition, Opera, Jazz, and Musical Theatre. Integral to the musical training we offer is the opportunity to perform; in an average year, the Academy runs a vibrant programme of around 500 events.

 

The Academy’s ICT Department touches all aspects of the Academy’s work, including our teaching, performance and professional services activities and is responsible for providing a professional and responsive service to over 1,000 IT users across the Academy’s student and staff population. We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer focussed individual, and you will be responsible for being the first point of contact for enquiries into the department. You will have a passion for technology and an interest in helping people at all levels to make the most of the ICT services that we offer.

 

Direct previous experience is not required but you must have a strong personal interest in technology and an ambition to pursue a career in the industry. You may have recently qualified from a technology course or earned a certification or qualification in the area. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a small team. The ability to prioritise, use your own initiative and work to deadlines are also essential requirements for this role.
