If any of you live in the NW then I should flag this up - https://www.playexpoblackpool.com - which is taking place this weekend.

I've got my tickets and am quite looking forwards to it. I have to admit that last years was a bit poor, but that was down to covid more than anything I think, but I am very much looking forwards to this.

I enjoyed last years, what did you think was poor about it? I've got tickets for the Sunday this time.

It may just be a bit of a disappointment for me as I was there to pick up prints and posters of old game magazine ads, but the stands that usually do them weren't there, as well as some others I usually spent a bit at. There just didn't seem to be the level of activity that you usually see there, not a lack of visitors, but other 'stuff'.

Perhaps I just had more positive memories from a couple of years before.

I'm fingers crossed for this weekend though.

I thought it was pretty good this year. Met John Romero. My eldest son had a blast.

My son and I had fun too, and I agree, it was certtainly better than last years show. Just a shame the 'big' cabs (Hang On etc.) were pretty much all broken by the early afternoon on Saturday, but there was a lot of demand for them and they are getting rather fragile these days.

Yeah the only disappointment really were the older cabinets. Some of them had buttons missing, or simply weren't working properly so that was a shame. I only went on the Sunday so they would have been used and abused by many by then..

Yeah, I really must get myself to the Arcade Club in Bury soon. Not been since before covid. Mind you I still have to try the Blackpool one too which was due to open as covid hit.

Gotta get my cabinate fix!

The one in Blackpool is good however not as big as Bury. The Bury one I found to be really busy and a bit cramped when I went. Blackpool feels a bit more laid back.
