server extended warranties Hp or 3rd Party

Our HP servers+san are approx 5 years old and probably won't be replaced for 2. Previously we had an HPE extended warranty 4 hour 24x7 foundation care, though I discovered when it expired that that it was only active on 2/3 servers and no san. 😮

 

3rd party support has been suggested and is much cheaper.

 

Is such a thing advisable or recommended?

How do,

 

Was in much the same position. I have used this company for 3 years now for my HP servers and HP SAN's. One SAN was installed in 2009 (not used in production now, but still doing strong).

I have a couple of bits fail. A controller on the old SAN, a couple of disks on the newest SAN, and a couple of disks on the servers.

I have got 24x7 on servers and the newest SAN and NBD on the old SAN

 

Each time Qual have replaced the bits the next day, with an engineer IF I wanted.
