Creating a MS365 tenant for testing

Hi all,

 

This is driving me mad as I cant find any information on it at all. I remember reading somewhere that you can create an MS365 tenant for testing, doing labs etc. Does anyone know anything about this or have a link? I want to spend the summer preparing to go serverless but obviously dont want to be messing about on a live production environment.

 

Please someone confirm to me im not going mad and didnt make this up...

There's the Developer Program as already posted, or if you just want to try things like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams (and Azure AD) there's the month Office 365 E5 trial (I think it has 25 licences): https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=698279

Just don’t get used to the E5/A5 features unless your going to pay for them.

Were you able to test everything you needed using this? I've had a tenant set up via the Dev Program for a while now but I'm currently trying to test School Data Sync which is only accessible if you have an Edu license, and I'm having no luck trying to find a way to set up a test tenant with an A1/3/5 rather than the E5 through the Dev Program
