[sims] Fill cell with value based on average of 2 other cells (HAP, MAP, LAP)

Hi there,

 

I'm looking to insert a column into marksheets, showing if pupils are high achieving etc. based on their KS2 results.

 

The blank column here is the one I wish to fill with LAP, MAP, HAP (so i'll need to have some thresholds) based on the average of the results in the two columns on the left:

First, create a gradeset for your KS2 levels so you can use grade distribution in marksheets. Create your aspect for "KS2 on entry" for these KS2 levels. Add a Column for data review using formula and calculate the mean of your 2 KS2 scaled scores. Add a column for data entry using formula and use a nested if-then-else to test the thresholds against your calculated column and assign the appropriate grade to your KS2 On Entry aspect. The DfE in their Secondary accountability measures - update give the thresholds as

Low < 100

Mid >= 100 but <110

High >=110

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am now looking for it. I hadn't clicked on a calculate button, though i'm struggling to see one. Forgive my total inexperience.

 

EDIT: Found it. Now onto the Banding

 

EDIT2: I'm not quite sure how the formula for KS2 Banding refers to the grade set. Seems its asking me to set my own parameters - just not sure how they talk to one another.

Have a look at this to see if it helps. The grade set and the aspect have the same name - this is just me, don't be confused. They are not the same thing, just imagine them with different names.

Aye, seems we have a similar thing, though no values (1,2,3) assigned to L,M,H in the grade set iself (which I stupidly don't understand the purpose of. Where do they come into play?).

 

But currently have it working thanks to your help. Cannot thank you enough.

Grade sets impose validation rules on the data entry into the aspect, allow comparisons and calculations and if you right click on the column header in a marksheet for a class and choose Show Grade Distribution you can see how the grades apply to the cohort the marksheet is set up for.
