Jaan Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 We have a "guest" wifi network that requires a wifi voucher code to be entered on a captive portal. (open network no ssid password) Anybody managed to create a rules to allow a device (via MAC address) to bypass this and just work? I've had a Google but not found anything official? Cheers all
HereIGoAgain2601 Posted May 25, 2022 Posted May 25, 2022 Are you using the Sophos wireless or another manufacturer? We use ruckus Wi-Fi but You should be able to tie it down with a firewall rule to bypass portal - but still have a level of filtering. You can’t do it off MAC address though as far as I am aware - it has to be IP so you’d have to reserve the device on your DHCP first.
Jaan Posted May 26, 2022 Author Posted May 26, 2022 Sorry yes we have Sophos XG with sophos Wifi. thanks

Cheers all Hi Jaan If I'm reading it right, just needs a firewall rule with the mac address that you want to bypass the hotspot above that rule - I'll post a screenshot a bit later. might help
