[sims] Non-binary pronouns to be used in Registers, Marks sheets ect

We have been asked if we can record the pronouns for our LGBTQ+ students in our SIMS system. I know we can create a UDF filed to allow thsi to be recorded, but on the studetn records its right at the bottom, and im not sure of the viability of adding it to reports/registers and marksheets (mainly having to go through every single one and adding it)

 

Does anyone else record pronouns of students in their SIMS systems and also display it on registers, reports and marksheets?

My understanding is that this is being actively worked on and may appear in the summer release.

You can add User Defined fields to any Panel now - they dont need to appear in Tab13 right at the bottom. When setting them up, they will appear in Student area but choose the "Basic Desatils" panel when setting up. I think you can "move" existing ones as well. They will, hovever, appear after the standard data in the Basic details area Tab1

Thanks for that, just tried that and it does work as you have mentioned. This might help to make the pronoun visable when viewing the student record. I still think reprots will be a nightmare,, but we will just have to do them on a case by case basis

There is a lot of pronoun functionality coming in the Summer 2022 release, with phase 2 of it coming in the Autumn. You can see more detail (if you have a login) here in the "SIMS – Updates to SIMS" section

ESS's naff website still refers you to an @capita.co.uk email to register :/ - When registering it asks for a registration code, do you know if that's our SIMS license key ?

The link takes you to an outdated version of that page which is why it still references Capita. At the top there is a button to view the most recent version (version control does have its downsides)

The Registration code isn't the same as the SIMS license key, you'll need to contact ESS via your SIMS support team to request a copy of it if your nominated user in school doesn't have a copy.
