Heebeejeebee Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Hi, Does anyone know if the versions of Maya, 3dStudio Max and Motion Builder that use FlexLM are floating licenses please? I'm about to purchase a specific number of licences but it would be ideal if they were floating rather than node-locked. Unfortunately I can't find any info with regard to these products and FlexLM on the Autodesk website (apart from the fact that they use it). Cheers HBJB
srochford Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I think floating (at least that's the case with Autocad and other packages we have which use FlexLM) It's actually not a bad system (as licensing systems go!) once you have it working - it takes a bit of time (it's tied to the MAC address of a server network card) and you seem to have to have a protracted exchange of emails to get things going but from then on it just works. 1
christian Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 OpenLM is a new floating licensing system for FlexLM that might be the ticket for you.

Thanks, I've Finlay heard back from our suppliers and they are indeed floating. HBJB
