NPostill Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Hi there, We currently run Xibo here but it is under used, in theory because the staff are finding it hard to understand/update. Therefore there has been a suggestion to move to Chrome Sign Builder. However, I have an issue with it that is driving me crazy. I have set up multiple schedules for the potential screens, with all the relevant slides etc. shared correctly. The OU's and Sign Builder apps are set correctly and the associated schedules work............sometimes. Basically, when the devices are rebooted, they either work within 2 minutes and display everything perfectly OR they sit there at the Sign Builder screen with a blue swirly circle and the message "Preparing App Profile" and then just sit there like that ad infinitum. Unfortunately, the times they sit with the Preparing message is about 90% of the times that they devices are rebooted. Basically so unreliable that I can't even guarantee that they will work if I put them out. I can have a device that sits at that message no matter how times it is rebooted, powered off and restarted etc. for a whole day or even more, and then I'll switch it off for 5 minutes and then when it's turned back on it could then work immediately. Does anyone have any experience as to why this could be happening or how to resolve it? Using GSB and Google slides would certainly make it easier for staff to update, but not if it's not reliable. Regards Nick
Chris_Cook Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 It generally works well for us. Have you looked to see if there is a network connection issue?
EssentialRug Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Same as above, it generally works really well for us across sites. What devices are you using for sign builder? As Chris_Cook says it could be a network issue?
NPostill Posted May 4, 2022 Author Posted May 4, 2022 Hi there, Thanks Chris_Cook for the network nudge. It turned out to be a firewall/proxy issue. We've now removed the proxy from the OU and the everything immediately worked. Regards, Nick
