talksr Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Hi there, we have a G Drive with USB C connector. It is a 10TB drive. I installed the formatter tool for Windows and formatted it, but I am seeing two drives when we plug it in. Is this normal? We get: G-Drive USB-C (E:\) 9.09TB G-Utilities (G:\) 3.79TB I am not great at maths but 9.09+3.79TB does not = 10TB?! Is this normal for these drives? I have never used one before?
Steve21 Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 I’ll ask the obvious, but are you sure it isn’t 4GB? Thought they used to be tiny just for restore/format/encryption tools etc Steve
DavR Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Is there a reason you need to use the proprietary software? If this is just USB storage, I'd be inclined to do all of my formatting in the Windows Disk Management GUI, where the disk size and partitions will be very clear.
