[mac software] Best place to buy Office for Mac?

Hi all,

 

I'm looking to buy 1x copy of Office for Mac (Business).

 

I've seen all sorts of sites in terms of buying for OEM etc & various CD sites. For home builds, do any of you have any "go-to" sites that you obtain legal keys from etc? Not looking for anything sketchy...

 

I've seen a few that mention being "Microsoft Partners". Are these the best sites to search for? Amazon prices are really sporadic. I'm only looking for the Business version as I use Microsoft Outlook and my Office 2011 isn't supported past Mojave.

 

Also, does anyone know that if I bought a retail Office Key (that mentions for being for PC), if it'll work for macOS?

Hi, this is for a home build & not for anything Academic/Enterprise-related.

 

Any advice/intel on using Windows keys on macOS? I've looked on Amazon & the reviews are a bit iffy!

£29.39 for one year on cjs cdkeys

 

The site does look sketchy, perhaps it is sketchy. I've ordered from them before and the "product" was a photo of a serial code. But not had a single problem

You can get it through Microsoft directly, I've seen it advertised as 'Microsoft Office for Home and Business for Mac 2021 (Lifetime License)' @ £249.99

They both say PC or Mac so I'm not sure that a Mac version would come with a different serial key than a PC version (it should just be a key to activate Office against Microsoft servers, but possibly not determine that it is either Mac or PC), but I can't say for sure and I'm not sure anyone could (except Microsoft).

 

What's the difference, are there some features left out of the 'home' version?

 

If not, I don't think Microsoft are that interested in a single user on a Mac though....

 

Is it for a business supplied laptop or something as your second post seemed to indicate a 'Home' setup?

Hi, I've seen it on Microsoft directly too. I was just wondering if there were any sites to obtain it at a discounted price (e.g as system builders can get an OEM license of Windows 10 for circa £30-40). Didn't know if there was anything similar for MS Office?

 

The only difference between the "Home" and "Business" versions of Microsoft Office is that Outlook isn't included. It's my preferred E-Mail client & the only reason I'm looking to upgrade is that it's not supported past Mojave & I've just bought an Apple Silicon-based computer.

 

Aside from Microsoft, are there any reputable third-party sites that you may know off that's licensed to sell MS Office?

Sorry, I don't...

 

I can't be much help on that front as I've only ever bothered about licensing since working at a school and we've always had EEs/OVS agreements, so have been covered for everything.

 

It might be worth reaching out to reseller (a few on here) to know if they would be kind enough to point you in the right direction?
