The ideal role for an existing Network Manager / Assistant Network Manager or Senior Technician to take on more responsibility and the title of Network Manager, whilst keeping your hands on the tools of your trade.

 

Our client, a well-established managed service provider working in the maintained and Private sector, are currently looking for an experienced Network Manager to be based at a lovely all-through Independent school in the Haywards Heath area. This school like to invest in IT and the successful applicant will be based on site 5 days a week, with support from the MSP and 4 engineers and you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent ICT support service is delivered throughout the school.

 

The postholder will be responsible for the day to day ICT service throughout the school including both technical support, maintaining specialist equipment, repairs and upgrades, as well as any other day-to-day requirement that may be required in order to keep the schools ICT systems operational.

 

Responsibilities:

• Strong 2nd Line support including management of active network components including switches, routers and firewalls.

• Work well with MSP data centre and support staff

• Maintain Internet filtering systems.

• Manage remote access to the school’s intranet.

• Design and implement procedures on receiving and testing ICT equipment.

• Design and implement procedures on asset disposal.

• Maintain and regularly review whole-school system contingency plans.

• Design and implement the school's backup and virus protection policies

• Assist in planning for major developments of ICT services.

 

Requirements:

• Previously worked within a similar Senior ICT position

• Worked within the Education sector

• Two or more years’ experience managing Enterprise level Network infrastructures or a Service Desk.

• Virtualisation technology (VMWARE or Hyper-V preferred)

• Microsoft Certification (MCSA, MCSE etc) or relevant professional qualification/degree
