Sophos XG Firewall and Web Filtering Experiances

We are looking to replace our existing firewall and filtering solution with a Sophos unit and wanted to know how people that are using Chromebooks have found the filtering for Chromebooks and the general experience with Sophos before purchasing the unit.

We haven’t used Chromebooks with our Sophos appliance as we are mostly Windows or Max - that being said the Sophos platform is excellent and would highly recommend it. Only issue we have had over the last 4 years is with the Windows authentication (STAS) from time to time but this is a minor issue.

Seems to be working just fine for us with chromebooks, they have an authentication app, which they have to accept the first time when logging into a chromebook, but then it makes sure it is all authenticated properly for you against the XG.

 

If you have both the Filtering and Internet connection up at the same time, it is worth speaking to Wave9 as they supply both (and purely use XGs for filtering) and I have to say, I actually like the XG at lot.
