IT Technician

Location: London

Salary: £24,343 per annum

Closing Date: Monday 07 March 2022

The role

You will become part of an active community of like-minded IT professionals, sharing knowledge and best practice. Our team mission statement is ‘For Information Technology to underpin the best in everyone so that teachers can bring out the best in pupils.’ You will embody this along with our team charter in everything that you do.

As part of your role, you will receive membership of a market-leading IT training platform and have the option to draw on the combined skills and knowledge of the wider London IT Service team. As a large team covering 13 schools across London, internal promotion is often possible and actively encouraged.

About You

We seek a knowledgeable IT Technician to join United Learning’s London IT Service, based primarily at The John Roan School. Prior experience of working in schools is desirable, and a demonstratable customer-focussed approach is essential. You will be the ‘face of IT’, building relationships with users of all abilities and seniority.

United Learning

The John Roan School is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit. We are open to discussing flexible working options.

We reserve the right to close this job advert early once we have found an appointable candidate, so please submit your application ASAP.

Interviews will be taking place ad-hoc.
