I have inherited a small deployment of iPads, which are DEP and managed by the Mosyle MDM. The first thing that I noticed was that none of the devices had checked in for over a year.

I renewed the APNS certificate, but that didn't resolve anything. I noticed there were two, and looked back through the history and saw that it had been replaced rather than renewed at some point, and this was causing the problem. Once I renewed the original certificate the device began to 'talk' to the MDM again.

The next thing I tried was to push some apps to the devices, which isn't working. The message that I am receiving is: OS response for the command: Please log in to your iTunes Store account.

I have checked that the latest terms and conditions have been accpeted in ASM, but am now drawing a blank.

Am I right in thinking that there are no longer any tokens that need updating for app licences, as was the case with the old VPP. The only token is now the APNS, right?

Intrestingly, I have 'bought' two apps in ASM, and they are not appearing in Mosyle either.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

You need to bind the MDM to the VPP store using a token. It expires every year.

In ASM go to Settings/Apps to download the token then upload to MDM.

Should be able to force a sync that will pull in the apps

Perfect - it was exactly this, and it was a two minute solution the next day that has everything up and running. Many thanks as I’d have stumbled around for a few more hours without this.
