chazzy2501 Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Annoyingly after little use over the past 5 years we finally have a technology teacher that wants to 3d print... After many failed attempts we discovered that the hotend (xyz call it a print head) has failed... this is a £60+ part any chance anyone here has got a discarded xyz junior with a good hotend Boring problem: there is an issue between the heat break and the hotend. upon retraction the filament can get jammed. this isn't a serviceable part
JOrdan01070 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Hi try doing a cold pull it could be bits of filament is stuck.
chazzy2501 Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 its a really strange issue the hot end will work fine for a while. but upon some retractions it'll get stuck.. I didn't do a cold pull but did do many hot and warm pulls and didn't observe noticeable contamination. All I can say is when it finds the blockage no amount of force (by hand at 200c) could get it to feed. but back off and try again it'll be fine. Unfortunately the nozzle is not removable on the junior.
