qnap backup

Our nice qnap storage qnap ts-1279u-rp has died!

It seems to have had two power supplies - and somehow one died - not sure how we should have known that - maybe some report / email should have come our way. Anyway - last friday the other one died - so we have no backup.... Somehow the automatic "failed" message didn't arrive either.

We're trying to set up a cloud based solution.

But - wondering whether anyone has a qnap storage of a similar vintage - so we could recover the files from it (I think there are 12 1Tb disks in a RAID array - rather worried that we won't be able to read this unless we can find a similar box?)

We have tried looking for replacement power supplies - we can find one for £600 that might arrive in a month....

Any advice welcome!
