Sibelius 8 Not Seeing License Server

Evening all, first foray into the Mac forum, definitely a "loath" person. A deep, deep loath person...

Reinforcing this low opinion of Macs is today's expensive failure in Sibelius. We have Sibelius 8 with 20 seats available licensed from our Mac server. The Mac server is on the correct IP address and correct VLAN. The Mac clients complain now of being un-licensed and can't find the license server. When the user is asked to specify one manually, the server IP address is (correctly) pre-populated but we can't actually get further and get licensed. Meanwhile the Mac server sits there with the Sibelius licensing thing opened, dishing out nothing.

Does anyone have any idea where to start with it?

Thanks so much to anyone passing who can throw me a bone here. I hate these things. :(

This is just as horrible on PC as on Macs! There is a special place in hell reserved for whoever came up with the licence system for Sibelius. Its a great idea, just not a great implementation. It really should be cloud based like Adobe.

If the IP address is correct, then I would guess either the port number is wrong, a firewall is blocking it, or maybe the licences haven't been added.

There should be a test function within the licence control panel. I would use that first and make sure that the server can issue licences.

Restarted it a bunch of times. Now it's ok again.

I didn't even have to visit the genius bar in the end.

Is it still called that even? And do they still clap?
