BSF in my area (Wellingborough)...

Hi Guy's,

 

Just doing a little looking and found that my area: Wellingborough, Northants is in group E (wave 13-15), and is one of the last schools that will be "BSF"-ed. See here (the excel spreadsheet). It looks like waves 7-15 is still in management consultation until the 4th of July.

 

Just rang up Northants County Council and left a message for more info. Currently, I'm neither "for" or "against" as I don't have enough infomation.

 

I been thru alot of the post and alot are negative about BSF, but does anyone actually have anything good to say about the BSF?

It'll be a God-send for the small percentage of schools that have woefully inadequate IT due to lack of SLT investment and staffing.

I'm in wave 7-9, and your even later so it might not even happen.

There is a consultation document from HM Govt looking at waves 7-15.

The outcome from this consultation may change the rules & allow LAs to apply for 'early' funding & bring forward some schools, especially if they are to become academies. Don't assume because you are well down the list that a) it won't happen, and b) it will take forever. If your school is a candidate for becoming an academy or is on the 'hit-list' as a failing school BSF may be sooner than you think, especially if your LA can get their act together & make a bid.....

It makes no odds to me (like I said I'm neither for or against it) whether or not my school does go down the BSF route. I'm not trying to sound heartless, but I'm trying to get out of the education sector anyway - this was more out of curiousity
