[2004, 20h2] GPO - MSI

Hoping you can help.

 

Just a quick question, can you have the same MSI file twice in a GPO?

 

Reason I ask is, was trying to push out a software but had the MSI twice and it ignored the first but deployed the 2nd 🤷🏻♂️

 

Not sure why but was confused.

 

Will this cause issues or should this not have worked or not be done this way.

I guess Group Policy must have some way of accounting for the same version of the same package being applied more than once, either by the same GPO or from different GPOs, and skipping unnecessary installations as needed. It's version aware, after all, since you can load in newer versions of packages to be installed as updates.
