5tu Posted January 13, 2022 Posted January 13, 2022 (edited) Time for some RM bashing..... I'm a patient guy, really patient in fact - but our RM leased line has now been down for 8 days and it seems we're no closer to a resolution than we were a week ago. I say it's down...... the circuit is up and we can ping external addresses successfully but we have no web connectivity at all. We're currently existing on a FTTC backup connection which sits maxed out 95% of each day and as you'd expect everything is soooooooooo sloooooooooooooow. RM still can't decide if the issue is hardware, their network or a telco problem. Time to jump ship and go elsewhere. Edited January 13, 2022 by gybe78

Can't say I've anything bad to say about our RM Broadband service over the years (except the many erroneous invoices that they decide to send us). Our contract is up this year though, so will definitely bear this in mind going forward...
synaesthesia Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 That's a lovely breach of SLA - over 7 days, breach of contract so if you wanted to jump ship you could do so almost immediately. However might not even be that easy; you might only have one carrier able to provide that leased line meaning any other provider would be in the same boat!
5tu Posted January 14, 2022 Author Posted January 14, 2022 Indeed it is @EssentialRug. Our account manager is very polite and apologetic (as is everyone else I've spoken to at RM) but unfortunately apologies don't fix the issue. Keep an eye on your inbox @Wave9_Lee - quote request will be with you very shortly! 1

Thankfully we have both BT and Virgin infrastructure in the road so we should have options.
djm968 Posted January 14, 2022 Posted January 14, 2022 RM still can't decide if the issue is hardware, their network or a telco problem. 8 days and they still haven't managed to work out where the issue is! Unbelievable incompetence, I would jump ship as soon as you can.
