So this isnt work related,

I’ve spun up a windows server vps in OVH recently and I’m looking to have a vpn to my home infrastructure. I can’t see any offerings from ovh for this unless I buy additional services. What I was thinking was installing the rras role on my vps and then on a vm at my home for a sort of site to site thing. Anyone attempted something like this before?

A friend of mine did pretty much this (to access his Home Lab). Obviously you'd have to tinker with Firewall settings etc to make it work; and the only difference between his & yours is he was using AWS to host his VPS. The theory behind what you're looking to achieve is definitely workable.

Yep, can be done as you described.

I have a server in ovh running VMware ESXi, then a pfsense firewall that uses IPSEC to my firewall here.

Works a treat.
