Jcx500 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) So this isnt work related, I’ve spun up a windows server vps in OVH recently and I’m looking to have a vpn to my home infrastructure. I can’t see any offerings from ovh for this unless I buy additional services. What I was thinking was installing the rras role on my vps and then on a vm at my home for a sort of site to site thing. Anyone attempted something like this before? Edited January 4, 2022 by Jcx500

Anyone attempted something like this before? A friend of mine did pretty much this (to access his Home Lab). Obviously you'd have to tinker with Firewall settings etc to make it work; and the only difference between his & yours is he was using AWS to host his VPS. The theory behind what you're looking to achieve is definitely workable.
kmount Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Yep, can be done as you described. I have a server in ovh running VMware ESXi, then a pfsense firewall that uses IPSEC to my firewall here. Works a treat. 1
