Any 'gotchas' with W11 GPO settings?

Hey All,

I assume the start menu is broken again, but any other out of the box things to look out for? New backdoors etc.

 

Anyone also know why manufacturers are hesitant to do wireless charging? I figure a trolley that self charges with drawers would be ideal for a school\care environment

From what I've heard, the start menu primary view (I have no idea what it's officially called.. The default bit, before you click All apps >) is only customisable if you're using InTune

The actual start menu redirection works fine, and it appears that despite previous info we've seen floating around, MS does allow folders now. At least certainly there were folders in my test redirected start menu, and there are on my work's PC (local) start menu.

I've just been looking into the taskbar stuff

 

This article says you can set it when you sysprep?

I tried one of them and obviously it didn't work. Has anyone looked at this yet?

Anyone else think this is a mess!! Using JSON for start menu and XML for taskbar! Can we just have some stability? It wasn't that long ago we got our heads around Windows 10 Start Menus

Hopefully it will improve. Insider build 22557 introduced folders in the Start Menu - whether these are available to be manipulated on deployments: https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2022/02/16/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22557/
