Exclude specific file extension from OneDrive sync

Hi,

 

Has anyone had issues with setting this GPO "Exclude specific kinds of files from being uploaded"? - Use OneDrive policies to control sync settings - OneDrive | Microsoft Docs

 

I've set it for the following extensions, however it doesn't work at all

 

*.lnk

*.msi

*.exe

*.url

 

Has anyone got it working? I can see the policy applied as its visible in Registry.

 

 

 

Basically, the reason I'm doing this is because staff move around computers & Teams creates a shortcut for the user if they haven't logged onto the computer before.... Within 2 weeks staff will have 4-5 copies of Teams shortcuts syncing to their OneDrive desktop!!

Edit the user group policy, set it to delete the file if it exists.
