Chrome bookmarks disappear during a period of inactivity

I'm currently on a CC4 network where users report that their bookmarks disappear after a period of inactivity and they then have to re add them all. Has anyone else encountered this problem as I can't seem to find any settings related to this on our CC4 network.

Chrome bookmarks are, by default, stored in App Data | Local in the users profile. So, they do not move between machines with a user's roaming profile, and also, get wiped if the local copy of the profile is removed from a device.

 

You can set Chrome to save bookmarks into roaming profiles though, using this GPO setting - https://softcomet.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000223323-enable-roaming-profile
