Account sent/received email reports - O365

Good morning,

 

I have been tasked with running a report from Office 365 to see how many emails were sent and received by a particular account in Office 365 for each academic year from 2018-2019. So I have 2 questions:

 

1. Does Microsoft even have data that stretches that far back?

 

2. How do I go about retrieving this data (or as much of it as possible)?

 

The basic reports on the admin portal only show data up to 180 days and Azure AD isn't showing me much either. Would rather not use a third party tool if possible. Don't mind PowerShell. I am Global Admin on the tenant if that helps.
