Smee Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 Good Morning. We currently use Meraki for our Ipads but are due to up the amount of ipads we have bring our total to over the 100; we have a free meraki licence for up to 100. I am hoping to look at Jamf (for schools I think) as the licencing seems to be better. The question is can I have 2 MDM's running under the schools same apple account at once? I don't want to have 2 mdm's on the ipads but just want to keep Meraki running on our existing Ipads until a decision is made. Hope this makes sense thanks
Brimstone Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 Yes we can have as many MDM's as you like in ASM. One thing to bear in mind is if you have auto assign configured in ASM to turn this off so you can manually assign devices to the preferred MDM. 1
Smee Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 another question. I take it I can only use our VPP token with one MDM?
StephenPink Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 I'm pretty sure you can use your VPP token in more than one - I think that's what I did when we were migrating from AirWatch to Jamf School... 1
Brimstone Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 You can't share the same VPP token with more than one MDM, what you have to do is create another location in ASM with the other MDM. This lets download and share an apps and books token with that MDM. I have some trusts with a single ASM account with more than 10 VPP tokens for each school in the trust. 1

D'oh my bad - it was a while ago! Essentially moved everyone over to the new location gradually. 1
