Drawplus X6 problem

Been using X6 since I upgraded from X3 many years ago with no problems at all. However, when starting to edit a magazine page today (jpeg A4) an A4 sized pink box appeared segmented into smaller boxed with diagonal in them. Attempting the same task when using the PhotoLab facility resulted in a DrawPlus Popup: Not enough memory.

So I closed everything on my desktop and tried again with the same result.

I don't know where to go nest - can anyone help?

Long time since I used drawplus, but that looks like a 'holding frame' it's expecting something in there.

 

Serif have got some really good user forums. (For what it's worth I'd contact Serif and see about options on Affinity Designer or Affinity Publisher), although I'm not sure if either of them can open any of the drawplus formatted files.
