rollover link problems

Head of ICT came to me late on Friday with a site a pupil had created in Fireworks and exported to Dreamweaver. The site is part of her coursework and will have to be burnt to cd and sent to be assessed.

She's created some rollovers which should link to another page, but only does so in FF. It fails completely in IE7. The whole site has been copied to my pen drive and I've spent a good part of the weekend trying to figure out why it won't work. There are some ethical issues here, such as not being able alter her work myself, and unfortunately, being a local site I can't point anyone to it either.

Whilst I have FF on my machine, pupils and staff don't, so it's a good bet that the examiner won't have it either.

I've opened the site in Dreamweaver and the rollovers have the required url's, etc. I've tried making links to pages I've created, but nothing seems to work. All other links on the site work correctly, just these rollovers don't. If anybody has any ideas I'd be grateful.

Back in my day we had to test our sites in various browsers to avoid this kind of problem entirely.

 

Have you tried it in IE6?

 

Very difficult to help without seeing the code itself, or see what actually happens when you try it in IE7.

Is there any javascript elsewhere in the page that does work in IE7?

 

Perhaps she should contact the author of the javascript code thats not working as they may have released an updated version which does work.

Just been told this morning that the external assessor will have access to FF, so the site will be viewable. Thanks for your input.
