Wifi affected by ethernet?

Hi there, I’m looking into work from home admin jobs which require you to plug into your router via ethernet.

 

If I do this - will the other tenants in my house still be able to use the wifi? Will it affect their internet speed noticably?

You can use both ethernet and wifi simultaneously on your router. Ethernet doesn’t affect wifi or vice versa.

 

The speed of the connection can be affected by more devices connected to the router (wifi or ethernet) as obviously there is only so much it can do at once, but unless you’re doing massive amounts of data transfer it really shouldn’t make much difference.
