Afternoon,

I'm looking at developing my IT Support team service. Currently running an osTicket helpdesk which is doing a job but looking to do a bit more.

I've been looking at GLPI open source and have got it installed. Looks promising for helpdesk and asset management stuff. Just wondering if anyone else is using it and has some feedback and pointers on anything worthwhile with it.

Cheers

We use GLPI for our asset management, but have never actually used any of the helpdesk stuff.

I find it fantastic for asset management. It allows you to store an obscene amount of detail about each asset, should you want to, and let's you make very specific and granular queries very easily.

It really comes into its own when used in conjunction with the FusionInventory agent for your computers. All your serial numbers, models, installed components, firmware versions, installed software, etc. pulled in and kept up to date automatically. Even stuff like antivirus version and BitLocker status. There's also a GLPI plugin called datainjection, which is a really powerful CSV import engine.
